Drinking Up Time
September 18 2010 The Bartons Arms
Saturday 18th September The Bartons Arms will welcome James Sumner to the venue in conjunction with the British Science Festival.
 
Take a  light hearted stagger through the scientific history of drink in the company of James Sumner, historian and part-time traveller.  This talk (with occasional shouting) meets Issac Newton, Humphry Davy and others as the ponder great questions such as: Is wine alcholic? Should beer contain rotting fish? And What spoils drink:  microbes, or thunder?

Djangology
September 26 2010 The Bartons Arms
Sunday 26th September the Bartons Arms will welcome Djangology as they perform live in the bar.  Entry is free and the perfomance will start at 1pm.
 
Djangology create an exciting and authentic atmosphere. Recreating the rhythmic swinging sounds of Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club De France featuring Dave Harris a sought after Richmond based session musician and composer and Paul Donnelly ex N.Y.J.O. and London session musician on guitars, Emma Fisk of the Rye on violin and Mick Shoulder a much in demand Bass player and member of Wagga Jawagga on Double Bass. Djangology recorded their debut cd, Echoes, in August 2004 and perform regularly with a recent appearances on BBC T.V. and Radio.
